Our clientel, at Quinta Chiappetta, tend to be amateur owners who want to show and/or trail ride their own horses. Therefore, they must be safe and easy to ride for many different riders of various levels.

It takes many wet saddle blankets, to learn what it means to have “good hands.”

We’re very proud of Ricky Mendoza and his training methods. He's been at Quinta Chiappetta since 1994, training the horses and the riders to be extremely successful show ring winners. At the 2009 Grand National Championship event, Ricky was voted Trainer of the Year by his peers - a great achievement and tremendous honor.

As a teenager, in his native Mexico, Ricky started out riding bulls, as well as his Uncle’s horses. He continues his education, in Kentucky, by attending a variety of training clinics for Paso Fino horses and other breeds.

We believe that good horse training is good horse training...regardless of the breed.

He has definitely developed his own style and his horses are very light in the bridle, happy and willing to work.
